David blogged about this and mentioned rats. I'm glad he came to the understanding that rats are not the dirty evil pests we make them out to be. Having had a rat for a pet on two occasions I found the little buggers to be more affectionate and loving companions than even cats or dogs. In my opinion, a rat as a messenger, as this clearly was, by this context, is an honor to receive.

Over twenty years ago after studying the Seth material with it's we create our reality theme and Louise Haye's How to Heal Yourself I developed a mechanism that I used to catch my attention in order to arrest a pernicious habit of negative self talk...I'd bump my head. The recurring poison ivy theme (in David's blog) as a way of self regulating whether or not you're walking your spiritual talk reminded me of that old habit of head bumping. There was more than once when I almost knocked myself out with the force of the blows I took to my head. I'm happy to say it worked...as I gentled my self talk I gentled my other habit of judging and criticizing others. The separation beliefs that make such thinking possible have given way to an authentic sense of oneness that is more about feeling my way along than thinking my way along.

It was a blessing to have a rat come along with a lesson about Oneness and a salve for the poison ivy. It's awesome what we can hear from the creatures around us when we listen with spirit ears and speak with spirit voices. As a lifelong organic gardener I've found I can ask bugs...like aphids to stick to a certain area or plant, and they'll respect the request. If they don't there will be something deeper going on for me to look for. On vision quest fifteen years ago it was ants and ticks that carried the first spirit messages...I'd placed my eight foot medicine circle under three small pines full of ticks in the middle of an an superhighway.

On a recent walk through the woods I found myself eyeball to eyeball with a Great Horned Owl...okay...he was 150 feet away up a tree, it was very much like eyeball to eyeball. I knew immediately that he was a spirit messenger validating the wisdom of a recent decision to make a 180 degree change...as those words passed through my head his head turned 180 degrees. I find myself very able to feel the oneness of this earthly experience in the natural world...it is ever an adventure to find ways of genuinely feeling that way about some people. I know though that if I can't see someone like Bush through loving eyes I contribute to the sense of separation and polarization still so prevalent.

I agree with you Charles. I think that Emily (the name I have given to his "pet" rat....seems only fitting that she receive a name don't you think?) is a sign of good fortune...wealth and health for him.

David got a wonderful gift in Emily. She is a [furry] representation of the divine feminine coming to him (as she is a female rat). What guts she had to come right up to him while he was working on the computer and politely (albeit shockingly) asking for food and trying to steal his attention away from the computer!

But I think she did more than that. This little goddess, in my view, is reminding him to take care of himself and to get out in nature a little. She knows that in order for her to get some good seeds/food that he has to eat properly. Isn't it humorous that she was single handedly able to give him a little drama to tear him away from his computer? What a powerful little creature she is! I mean there he is in the mountains and he doesn't seem to get out much (at least from what I can tell)...to ground himself even for a short time in nature (to neutralize the harmful effects of EM radiation from the computer on his body and particularly the eyes) or to take lunch outside...and here is a creature that is close (to the ground/Earth) paying him a very personal visit...reminding him that some time has to be taken for self to balance out what he is giving to others. This health issue is one of the issues that Edgar Cayce had. Had he taken better care of his health he would have been around a while longer to give more readings. I've never forgotten this issue when I read it in the books on EC.

I wonder if Emily will coax him outside a little (but not near any poison ivy patches of course)? I can see her scurrying across the tile floors now :)

I'd like to add that I really appreciate David's candor and sharing.

Charran's post above goes for us all - unplug and get out there! Awhile back after first "getting into" this site, I found myself spending way too much time on the computer. People I can finally talk to about "this" - so much to read, so much to say! I was (and still am) searching for clarification on some ideas. Eventually though, I realized that I wasn't going to find all of the answers here and that I had to look within. I do this best outdoors in an "isolated" environment, away from the computer, tv, cell phones, etc., where I can "quiet" my mind and "open". Don't get me wrong - I regularly check the forums and look for new blog's from David; just now I limit my time on the computer.

These may seem like "Duhs" to alot of you, and yes, I've learned and grown alot since "joining up" with ya'll - but it has been through expression and discussion, not necessarily "reading through the posts". It just happened that I was doing this so much that I cut into "my time", and really think I was going into another "spiritual stalling". Now it seems I have found a good balance, and a potential stall has been transformed into growth. YAY!!! :)

So, "step outside of yourself and take a look; "evaluate" whether or not you're giving yourself enough time in "your place". For some it may be outside, others, in. But, we all need to spend more time "in our own place connecting"... Maybe this is why the number of new posts has been down the past week or so...

Maybe some else can word this better, but hopefully you get the point.

I would like to digress a bit though and mention that after I made the choice to limit my time on the web (mainly this site, but others as well), "it" started happening. And by "it", I mean more people are starting to strike up conversations that ultimately lead "here" - the "spiritual realm". Yesterday, for example, one of my colleagues asked about Quantum Physics. We had a pretty good conversation that led to spirituality and religion, etc. Once you have one of these conversations, you know it when you've "struck a chord" (resonated with that person). In the end, I wished her well on her journey of exploration and told her to remain open-minded and positive - take everything with a grain of salt. As I have been "preparing" myself for these encounters, its "nice" to see them starting to occur, and in yesterday's case, "end" like they should. In other words, yesterday was more of a positive affirmation of recent choices I've made, including limiting the amount of time I spend here. Don't take that the wrong way guys!!!

Thank you all so much for sharing. What we're doing here is important and it feels great to be a part of it. Take care my friends - you are in my thoughts and prayers. :D

Charles,

That is just too funny! I guess we are on the same wavelength! :D

Off to my next magic trick (after pulling names out of hats lately).
