hi john,

thank you for providing that review. i had planned to do the same
out of my own thoughts had i the time. the prophet as been a life
reference source as has the life and teachings.... the treasures
of gibran, is another volume many times worth the reading.

i leave the review in this reply as an emphasis of its value to all
who may check it out.

a new book that carries almost the same weight as those two is
letters to earth by wise. (wee-is) it is available from amazon.com.

the prophet, by kahlil gibran
http://www.columbia.edu/~gm84/gibtable.html
the prophet is kahlil gibran's masterpiece, his most celebrated statement
about the truths of human experience. full of wisdom.
the prophet is about a mysterious religious thinker who is about to leave
for his native land. before he goes, many people have just one question to
ask him. in a very few words, he tells them his accumulated wisdom primarily
in a nondenominational way. the only exceptions come in the references to
rebirth. the essence of each brief lesson is that we have to step outside of
our own perspective to see things in the way that god does and wants us to.

the life and teachings of the masters of the far east by baird t. spalding
the 5 volume set "the life and teachings of the masters of the far east", is
packed with great information on higher spiritual concepts and practices.
the story is about the journey of a man to find the legendary masters, his
experiences, observations, and their life and teachings. the volumes detail
spalding's encounter with these highly evolved beings who refer to
themselves simply as our elder brothers. the author takes us to the rugged
mountains, and wild and dangerous country side that he had to encounter to
reach these legendary beings. he describes in full detail his first
encounter with these people and how they helped many people from day to day.

spalding describes the humility and simplicity, and a great desire to help
humanity reach the higher level of understanding and life that they have
achieved. some of the first hand experiences spalding writes about is how
they brought back people from the dead, walk on water, rejuvenate youth,
create & raise the frequency of their bodies to take them to other planes of
existence. wild animals are tamed in an instant, and the importance of love
to all beings is fully explained.

the techniques used by these beings are fully described by spalding, as well
as the basic teachings and principles behind the practices. spalding spent
years with these beings and that is what each of the volumes are about his
experiences and their teachings on the nature of god, creation, the
universe, and ultimate reality. spalding delivers the masters' important
messages to mankind and writes in an entertaining quality that makes it very
readable and very believable.

spalding lays out his writings in such a way as for you to decide that what
he is writing is fact or fiction. if you enjoy exploring higher spiritual
truths, teachings, concepts and practices then you will definitely want this
volume set as a part of your library.

these books are counted as religious classics and they are a light not only
for the spiritually minded, but also for psychologists and philosophers.
